Blackjack Tips Used by Professional Players

January 26th, 2011

Many of today’s blackjack tips can be traced to the period of time from the 1960 to the 1990s when blackjack was the most popular casino card game in the world. Thanks to televised tournaments beginning in the 1990s the popularity of Texas Hold ‘em soon grabbed the attention of gamblers worldwide, but winning blackjack tips are still coveted by the fans of this legendary game.

The first forms of blackjack began in France in the 1700s. The game was imported into the United State after the French revolution and its popularity spread quickly throughout the country. With gambling prohibited in the early 1900s blackjack became an underground phenomenon so that by the time Las Vegas legalized gambling in 1931 the game had become popular throughout the country.

The ultimate of all books on blackjack tips was published in 1962 when Professor Edward Thorp used his skill in mathematics to create a card counting strategy that was outlined in his best selling book Beat the Dealer. Afraid of suffering losses thanks to the book’s revelations, casinos across the country changed many of the rules of blackjack to counteract the strategy. But when gambling revenues dropped sharply as a result of their action the casinos gradually restored the more favorable rules and blackjack remains a casino favorite today.

The concept behind the card counting strategy is that by calculating the number of cards remaining to be dealt and the ratio of the cards within that remaining count an experienced player can actually determine when the odds to win are in the player’s favor. At those times, the player will dramatically increase the amount of the bet to capitalize on the favorable situation.

Most of the best blackjack tips take advantage of this same concept, even in basic strategies designed for beginning or novice players. Like all games of chance, players will lose more hands than they win at blackjack. The key to having financial success lies in the players’ ability to bet more money on hands they’re likely to win and less money on hands they’re likely to lose. If you are counting cards, you know before a hand is dealt if you have better or worse odds of winning that next hand. But if you are merely playing a simple basic strategy, that knowledge comes only after the hand has been dealt.

The most important of all blackjack tips, then, deal with ways in which the player can add more money to his wager after he sees the cards that are dealt. As a player you should first memorize the correct ways to play a hand in terms of when to hit and when to stand. But to convert that knowledge into winning money at blackjack, tips regarding the player’s ability to put more money on the table at the right time are just as important.

Splitting pairs and doubling down are the two keystones to placing larger wagers on favorable hands. As an example, when the dealer is showing a 4, 5 or 6 the player has a distinct advantage. Similarly, depending on the dealer’s card, when a player is dealt cards totaling 10 or 11 the dealer may be at a disadvantage. It is at times such as these that the player must use the rules allowing splitting pairs and doubling down to increase the money wagered on what is now an advantageous situation.

Blackjack Tips Revelation From a Casino Training Professional

November 13th, 2010

The phrase “all that glitters is not gold” has some truth in it. When you are at the casino, what goes on in your mind? It is not right for me to disclose secret blackjack tips, but it is my duty to forewarn you.

The first moment that you stepped into the casino, you are engulfed by the glitters of neon lights flashing from the various slot machines, the brilliant and wonderfully expensive chandeliers, the beautifully crafted designs of exotic animals and people on the walls and the list goes on. The band is playing beautiful music, the people are extremely friendly and there are roars of excitement everywhere! So, where am I coming from?

The very basic blackjack tip that I am talking about is control of emotions.

When you first stepped into a casino, your temperature rises. Your heart pounds ever so quickly. You feel a rush for a big win! The atmosphere all around you basically lifts your soul to the level where your mind detached from the heart and soul. Your aim is to win, win, win! And win BIG, that is!

That is the epitome of disaster that every casino management wants you to be!

I cannot because of my training experience, keep quiet about this phenomenon that is always happening to almost anybody in any casino all over the world. I feel I have to do my part to at least instruct you as a person eager to make some returns from your paychecks, to fully comprehend what you should at least do when you wish to go on a trip to the casino.

Some simple but overlooked tips – Before you leave for that wonderland, put away all your credit cards and possible means to retrieve more money out of your bank. Bring along what you are ready to lose. Yes, I really mean that.

Blackjack Tips

When you go in search of a blackjack table, do not go for the most quiet table yet. Look around and feel the mood of the people. There is logic in why certain tables are momentarily shun by the blackjack gamblers as anyone playing tend to lose in those tables. Why? Because the odds at that time are in favour of the dealer!

Blackjack plays in probability basis. That is why you need to look around for a good feel of the mood of the people playing.

For simple starters, you might want to look for winning tables where a lot of people are crowding and cheering. Most likely, the odds are in their favour and you might want to put a hand in it too! Just ride along the wave! Make most of the momentum of the winnings and cash out when you have subsequent three loses.

Remember the most important blackjack tip is not about blackjack itself, but is about the control of your emotions! May the God of Fortune be upon you forever!

How Does a Professional Blackjack Player Win at Blackjack 21 All the Time?

October 16th, 2010

It is easy! No, it is not about basic strategy, it is not about card counting accuracy and it is not about working in a team or relying on one’s luck! It is not about reading soft hands or hard hands either…

It is all about discipline! Yes! It is about controlling your emotions!

What is the objective of the game? It is to beat the dealer and get your cards to total 21 or as close as possible.

If your cards go over 21, you bust and lose. Worse, as a player, you must act first to see if you go bust.

All these game rules create emotions. Emotions to win, emotions not to lose, emotions of what if I go over 21? There is fear of losing your hard earned money, fear of the dealer getting blackjack, and there is joy of getting blackjack yourself, etc.

The norm of the people in casinos are controlled by these emotions and that is what the casinos are betting on all the time! To get out of the norm, you must stop playing like all the rest of the crew.

Let me tell you a true tale of a close friend at what he does in the casinos.

First and foremost, when he leaves for the casinos, he takes only what he wants to play and that is it. It is about $500 dollars. He goes to the casino and wonders around looking for a good run or “feel”. This can take about an hour or so. If he does not feel right, he will not play at all! It is that simple.

Now, when he sees opportunity in a table game, he will tack along all the $500 at one go! He fears nothing, as he had been watching and now the time is right! The money he uses is excess of his monthly needs, so he does not mind the lost if it does turn out to be that way.

Now, if he wins, he doubles his money making it one thousand for the next deal, and then takes that win of one thousand (if he wins again). This way of playing sounds scary, but it is not. Contrary to the norm, this is how you should behave in the casinos. When the going is good, hit it big. But do not forget to save some of that chips for pure profits. He doubles up very quickly, but also takes some of his winnings. In this way, if he loses at any time after the first 3 runs, he does not lose his money but the house money! There is no fear, or revenge or sadness.

Instead, there is a mild sarcastic feeling that you actually lost the house’s money! What a joke indeed!

If his runs continue to progress well in maybe about 7 times of wins, he could easily build up to excess of pure profits of $5000 in one go! Even if he loses after the third time, he still did not lose any of his money! And if he did lose that $500, well he will just come back another time.

The problem with the norm is that most players in casinos will use a little by little of their money to play, and when they start to lose, they become agitated and start throwing their money onto the tables to get back what they have lost. The problem is when you start to lose, you will actually lose even more if you continue.

So that is what professional players do not do when playing blackjack, and that is to lose their emotions!

This is the ultimate tip of how to win at blackjack games all the time!

By the way, my friend played in the casino with that $500 and left the casino with $30,000!

And guess what, he goes back to the casinos with the basic $500 again and not $30,000! This formula is repeated always and keeps his emotions at bay all the time!

Cheers!

Want to Play Like a Blackjack Professional? Let Us Show You How

September 14th, 2010

We would like to enhance your blackjack knowledge in areas of strategies and the famous lucky blackjack edge. The following information can be utilized at home or at the casino live tables. We have outlined pointers which will make you play like a professional black player, amazing your friends and the surrounding audience. Please continue to read if you would like to know these tested and proven techniques.

What you need to know

Please be aware that it is hardly unlikely that you will walk into any casino, where there are no security personnel, floor mangers, pit bosses and let’s not forget the great electronic eye in the sky watching your every move. If you go into these places with the intention to cheating please do not.

First pointer is not to make any drastic gestures with your hand or hands to give the dealer any inclination that you are going to touch your initial chip bet on the table. You do not want the dealer to reprimand you at the table. The dealer maybe under the impression that you are trying to cheat the casino, by trying to increase your chip count due to the assumption that you have a strong hand and want to adjust the payout odds in your favor.

When increasing your bet due to whatever blackjack strategy you deem necessary, please follow this core rule and place the additional chips next to the initial chip stack, placing them on top is frowned upon by most professional card dealers. So please follow rule one and leave the initial chip bet alone. This will avoid an embarrassing situation whether in a casino or at home playing with your selected game players.

When handling your cards please ensure that you handle you cards as little as possible and in full view of the house dealer, the dealer will be extremely vigilant watching all the cards on the blackjack table. We will avoid being accused of cheating when applying this technique.

It is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the various blackjack hand signals, you may ask yourself why? Why cannot one just verbally indicate the card options for that particular card play? Well just think about if you are in a live Casino that is really busy, and buzzing with people, slot machine spewing out metallic coins in the cash tray and other background noises, the dealer may not be able to accurately hear your instruction or request for that particular card play, hence in come the needs for blackjack hand signals.

How to signal the “Hit me” command this hand motion is executed by making a gentle “come hither” motion with two fingers or more in an inverted manner (upside down). So in fact it looks like you are scratching the felt on the table behind your cards in play.

How to indicate the “stand” or “stay” signal imagine that you are waving to someone goodbye, using this same motion in a gentle manner, apply this motion just above your cards in play and with your palm pointing down on the table. And you will be playing your game with maximum enjoyment whatever the volume level of the audience you are in.

Blackjack strategy

Certain situations may occur when playing and if they arise you need to know the technique to apply at the right time, this will not only enhance your probability of winning but will increase the enjoyment factor also.

1: Insurance

Well this is when the game becomes intriguing; executing this option we see that the dealer has an ace card facing up as his show card, we have the opportunity to make a side wager that his down card has a value of ten giving him blackjack. If you guess right and his down card does have a value of ten then you win that wager at a pay rate of 2 to 1 on the insurance wager you placed. If you guess wrong well you lose your insurance wager. This is one choice you have to think about carefully before deploying.

2: Doubling down:

This is a well known concept to use when, you are dealt a card having a value of ten or eleven, and the dealer has a bad value up card, when you receive your initial hand, you can increase your wager amount up to the amount of you initial bet this is termed “doubling down” the dealer will deal you only one additional card. This doubling down may be done on any two cards, and also after splitting a pair.

3: Splitting:

Let us visualize that you are initially dealt two cards which have the exact identical card value; you have the option of splitting them into two separate hands, so each hand is now played separately. Please note that rules dictate you must match your original bet if you take this option. I hear some of you saying how many times am I allowed to split my hand? The rule states that you can split up to three more times, thus presenting you with four separate hands. Please check the rulings they may change depending on location.

After you split you can take any number of hits on each playable hand, please try not to get yourself busted. Please note that if you happen to be dealt a split which contains two Ace cards, you will only be dealt one additional card on each hand. But if by chance you are the dealer deals you another Ace that pair may be re-split. In terms of payout a twenty-one obtained on an Ace split pays only even money since in the card world it is not considered as a true blackjack.

Follow these guidelines and you will be playing like a professional.

Professional Blackjack by Stanford Wong

August 15th, 2010

This is currently the best blackjack book for learning how to play blackjack in my opinion. Even though it was originally written in the 1970’s this is the one book that I always take with me on all of my gambling trips. It contains a basic strategy for single and multiple decks. There is, also, a powerful simple plus and minus strategy for card counting for single and multiple decks with differences for the dealer hitting soft 17 and standing on soft 17.

If you seriously want to win at blackjack this is the one book that is a must have. Once you become a proficient card counter you will have to know how to win with out being asked not to play. Wong devotes a chapter on how to win with out being kicked out. There is an excellent chapter that explains your long term risk and ruin and how much money you need to back you depending on how much you like to bet.

Over betting is, probably, one of the main things that a lot of players do that causes them to lose their bankroll. Wong explains this in great detail.

I have seen other posts say that you can bet 2 to 3% of your bankroll and you will make a lot of money fast. In realty betting 1% will lesson your chances of going broke. You may not win as fast if luck is with you but will you will still be in the game if your luck heads south for awhile.

Do get this book if you are serious about winning.
