How Player May Win Money Playing Blackjack

May 1st, 2011

Blackjack is a relatively simple game. Keep reading this article to find out how player may win money by playing blackjack. Every person at the table is given 2 cards face up or down (depending on the casino’s rules). The dealer will give herself two cards, one face up and one face down. The dealer’s card that is up in addition to the players two cards is what will determine the players next move. The object of the game is to get as close to a total of 21 points without going over and while still having a higher total than the dealer. Being dealt an ace and a face as your first two cards is a blackjack and you automatically win!

Blackjack strategy is easy to follow and follow you must if you wish to get the best odds at winning money. Always assume the dealer has a face card as their down card. If the dealer’s up card is a six or lower, then the rules state that at a dealer 16 they must take a third card. So the player ought not risk busting their hand, even if they have a measly 12. The player can hit if they have an eleven or lower. In fact it may be wise to double your bet if the player has an 11. Odds are the dealer will get a hand totaling over 21 and everyone will win as the dealer busts. If the dealer shows a 7 or higher, still assume the down card is a ten. Then play your two cards in a way to beat the dealers hypothetical hand. Take a card or two but never hit a hand that is 17 or higher (unless soft which means they contain an ace).

If the dealer shows a face card, they will check using a special mirror on the table if their second card is an ace. If it is, that means the dealer has a blackjack and the game is over. If the dealer shows an ace, they will ask if the table wants insurance. It doesn’t matter what insurance offers you or what your cards are at this point. Insurance is what is known as a sucker’s bet. Don’t buy it. The dealer will now check her down card, if it is a face card, she has blackjack and everyone looses. If not, play continues. Play your hand as if the dealer had a face card up. Each casino has their own house rules and some have different side bets players can take a chance on. These are gambles and don’t have odds in favor of the player. However its possible to get lucky so some people will choose to take this gamble. It’s important to note that the least amount of decks a card plays with is best for its players. So sit down at a one or two deck game as opposed to a 6 or 7 deck game.

The card game of black jack has been played and enjoyed by many people over the years. The rules are simple and you will win money if you play wisely.

A Beginners Guide to Blackjack – Basic Strategy and Tips

April 26th, 2011

If you’re new to Blackjack, you probably have a lot of questions. If you don’t want to leave the table empty-handed, there are a few things you should know. This stuff is too simple for the pro’s, but every beginner should read this article.

The basics of blackjack

The goal of the game is for your hand to equal 21, called a Blackjack, or have the highest hand closest to 21 without going over. If you go over, you “bust” and lose. And if you have only 13 for example, but the dealers busts, you win. To “hit” means you want the dealer to give you another card. If you don’t want another card and wish to stay where you’re at, you are choosing to “stand.” There are other strategies to playing blackjack such as doubling down, splitting, insurance and surrendering, but those are beyond the basics of blackjack.

Who wins in a tie, me or the dealer?

In almost all casinos, a tie is called a “push,” and the player will get their money back. Nobody loses their money. There are casinos where a tie in Blackjack might result in a loss for the player, but these rules are rare. Make sure you check house rules for tables games wherever you’re playing. If the dealer wins in a push, you shouldn’t be playing at that casino.

What are my odds of winning in a game of Blackjack?

The house usually has an advantage of about 8%. This happens because they are the last player to lay down their card, which gives all other players a chance to bust before it’s the dealers turn. These odds can be reduced by effectively learning the game at an advanced level and understanding the probability of busting based on the cards in your hand and what could still be in the dealer’s hand or the deck. For example, only 30 percent of the deck is worth 10, making the old strategy of assuming the dealer has a 10 useless.

How much money do I need for an afternoon playing Blackjack?

The amount of money you want to spend depends entirely on your budget and the minimum bet of the table you’re playing. Dealers are fast and you can probably fit in about 25 hands in 15 minutes at a full table. At a $5 table, that’s $125 at least. Of course this isn’t taking into consideration any wins. If you just want to play and are looking to get in some decent playing time, consider playing a $1 table, where $50 can have you playing for about a half-hour if all your hands are losses. Obviously, wins will increase your playing time drastically.

What the heck is the dealer saying after I cut a new deck?

This one is funny, because even many experienced blackjack players don’t understand what the dealer is saying when they split a new deck. It happens so fast and casinos are noisy. The dealer is actually calling out “shuffle check” to the pit boss, which indicates that the cards have been cut. This ensures that the deck is not rigged.

A basic strategy to get you started

This is a basic strategy to help you get started understanding blackjack. If your hand equals 12-16 or the dealer has 2-6, it’s called a “stiff” hand. If you and the dealer both have a stiff hand, you should stand. If you have a 17 or better, or the dealer has a 7 and an Ace, it’s called a “Pat” hand. If you have a Pat hand, you should stand. If you have a stiff hand and the dealer has a pat hand, you should hit.

Learn Blackjack – Learn How to Play Blackjack Like A Pro

April 23rd, 2011

The game of Blackjack is not that hard to learn and one can learn to play it like pro with some practice and knowing the different strategies. If you have not played it for a while or have only been introduced it by some friend, you can still learn to play it by following the different rules. The basics of the game are straightforward, and one can easily learn the background of the different strategies also. The best part of this is that one can apply these different strategies while playing online in the practice area rather than going straight to the tables.

The normal blackjack table consists of eight members participating in the game. The seven are players while one person is given the charge to deal. Different players are given names according to their seating arrangement from first base, to third base and so on. The ideal start for the starting players is to play at the lower bet tables rather than the higher ones. The money drop slot on the left of dealer is there to collect money; this is there to protect the casino from possible leakage.

The discard tray is yet another feature that must be quite useful while playing. If you are starting to play the dealer mixes the cards and cuts them by using the marker card. Different players set their bets before the deal is set, the exciting part of this is that one can choose not to take part in a couple of bets if it seems uninteresting.

The constant attention and care should be placed while playing this game. If you feel exhausted or wish to leave the game for short while, there are many ways to do it. You can ask some one to step in for you; some other player can take your place in the game, or just vacate your spot. This leaving is often found to be fruitful in many cases as you can return to the game almost anytime during the game quite easily.

Head to Head Blackjack – A Game Overview

April 19th, 2011

I guess we all know how to play blackjack the traditional way. But did you know that many of the leading online casinos now offer variants of the classic blackjack game. One of those variants is a head to head match where you are pitched in against another player and try to beat them rather than the house. Here is an overview of a typical head to head blackjack match and how it works.

You and your opponent start each match with an equal amount of chips and then play a designated number of hands of blackjack. On completion of that designated number of hands the player with the biggest chip stack wins.

Basically, the normal rules of blackjack apply in heads up play. You may hit, stand, split or double down as normal, take insurance and a blackjack still pays 3-2.

To start things off one card is dealt to each player and the player dealt the lowest card value goes first for that round with the order of play alternating for each subsequent round. The number of rounds in head to head blackjack can vary. For example it could be a fast and furious five round affair or a more tactical and longer forty round match.

At the conclusion of the stated number of rounds the player with the most chips is the winner. But do beware that if you run out of chips at any stage you are automatically forfeit the match.

Of course one outcome could be a tie. You and your opponent have the same number of chips at the end of the final round. In the event of a tie then you are in to sudden death play-off territory with extra rounds continuing until one player has a chip lead at the end of a round. They are of course declared the winner.

Head to head blackjack is fun and can add extra elements of strategy and skill to your game. Basic strategy still comes in to it though you will need to manage your chip stack and keep an eye on your opponent. I wish you good luck should you venture in to the world of head to head blackjack.
